Why is Legit Script certification important for us?

Unfortunately, high-risk industries are often the most targeted by people whose intent can be malicious or dangerous to the public. Certification serves as an important safeguard to ensure that the laws and regulations intended to keep the public safe are being adhered to. In other words, certification allows us to take a deeper dive into the nooks and crannies of the internet to protect those who are at a higher risk of being taken advantage of.

    Capsules

    Creams - Ointments

    Creams - Ointments

Capsules are among the most popular of all dosage forms. They are chemically and physically stable, easy to administer, attractive, and can be easily compounded. They can be easily tailored to meet the needs of individual patients regarding dosing, ingredients, etc. Also, more than one drug can be incorporated in each capsule to minimize the number of dosage forms the patient must take.

    Creams - Ointments

Creams are homogeneous, semi-solid preparations consisting of opaque emulsion systems. Their consistency and rheological properties depend on the type of emulsion, either water-in-oil (w/o) or oil-in-water (o/w), and on the nature of the solids in the internal phase. Creams are intended for application to the skin or certain mucous membranes for protective, therapeutic, or prophylactic purposes, especially where an occlusive effect is not necessary. The term "cream" is most frequently used to describe soft, cosmetically acceptable types of preparations.

    Troches

    Creams - Ointments

    Troches

Troches are medicated lozenges that can be compounded with different medications to dissolve in the mouth. They can be made into hard lozenges that are designed to be held in the mouth and allowed to melt slowly or soft lozenges that can be chewed and swallowed.

Since troches stay in the mouth for a period of time while they dissolve, they can be compounded with several flavors and colors to make them more appealing and appetizing.

    Tablets

    Troches

Tablets are solid dose pharmaceutical preparation containing drug substances prepared with the aid of suitable pharmaceutical excipients. They may vary in size, shape, weight, hardness, thickness, disintegration, and dissolution characteristics and in other aspects, depending on their intended use and method of manufacture.

    Injections

    Injections

An Injection is a preparation intended for parenteral administration and/or for constituting or diluting a parenteral article prior to administration. Parenteral articles are prepared scrupulously by methods designed to ensure that they meet Pharmacopeial requirements for sterility, pyrogens, particulate matter, and other contaminants, and, where appropriate, contain inhibitors of the growth of microorganisms.

COMPOUNDING AND THE FDA: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

    What is compounding?

Drug compounding is often regarded as the process of combining, mixing, or altering ingredients to create a medication tailored to the needs of an individual patient. Compounding includes the combining of two or more drugs.

Why do some patients need compounded drugs?

A drug may be compounded for a patient who cannot be treated with an FDA-approved medication, such as a patient who has an allergy to a certain dye and needs a medication to be made without it, or an elderly patient or a child who cannot swallow a tablet or capsule and needs medicine in a liquid dosage form. Practitioners in hospitals, clinics, and other health care facilities sometimes provide compounded drugs to patients when an FDA-approved drug is not medically appropriate to treat them.

In these situations, compounding can serve an important patient need.
